Apple Sports iOS app gains Formula 1 support

Just in time for the 2025 Formula 1 season-opening Australian Grand Prix this weekend, Apple has updated its Apple Sports iOS app to include support for F1.

Just in time for this weekend's 2025 Formula 1 season opener in Australia, Apple has added F1 support to its Apple Sports iOS app.

The update follows last month's addition of NASCAR coverage ahead of the Daytona 500, continuing the app's expansion into major motorsports.

Launched in 2024, Apple Sports delivers real-time scores, stats, and updates across the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and Premier League. F1 fans can now access race schedules, live leaderboards, lap times, and other key data throughout the season.

For NASCAR, live race data includes photos of the top three drivers and current gaps between them, plus lap counts and flag status. Similar features are expected for F1 coverage.

Apple's F1 ambitions extend beyond the sports app. The company will release an F1 movie starring Brad Pitt on Apple TV+ on June 27, co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. Apple TV also hosts a 2021 documentary on Hamilton's life and career.
