Apple's "F1" movie starring Brad Pit trailer reveals drama in the corners

We now have a title and three trailers for Apple's Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt.

Apple's Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt now has a title and three trailers building anticipation for its summer release.

Simply titled "F1," the film was officially announced during the 2024 British Grand Prix with a teaser trailer. Pitt plays veteran driver Sonny Hayes, coaxed out of retirement to mentor rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) at the fictional APXGP team. The premise echoes 2001's "Driven"—swap Sylvester Stallone and CART for Pitt and Formula 1.

A third, full-length trailer released Thursday offers the deepest look yet at Sonny Hayes's story and the world he inhabits.

The supporting cast includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Director Joseph Kosinski, who delivered the stunning aerial sequences in "Top Gun: Maverick," appears to have achieved similar magic with F1's on-track action.

The trailer footage looks authentically intense—modified single-seaters serve as convincing stand-ins for real F1 machinery. Sharp-eyed viewers will spot a cameo from former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner.

Formula 1's unprecedented involvement granted the production access to actual race weekends, promising more authentic crowd shots than "Ford v. Ferrari." Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton serves as a producer and has advised Kosinski on camera placement, even completing a track day with Pitt to ensure authenticity.

Filming continued throughout the 2024 season, wrapping at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December. "F1" hits North American theaters June 27, 2025.

A shorter trailer dropped during Super Bowl Sunday, punctuated by a single line of commentary: "Hayes attacks from the outside."

This article was updated to include the Super Bowl trailer and the full-length trailer released Thursday.
