Tesla Model Y "Juniper" Refresh Launches with Enhanced Range and Features

Tesla has officially launched the redesigned Model Y, codenamed "Juniper," featuring an updated exterior, improved interior materials, and extended range. The new model is now available for ordering in select markets with deliveries expected to begin in Q2 2026.

Tesla has unveiled the highly anticipated Model Y refresh, internally known as "Juniper," marking the first major update to its best-selling electric SUV since its debut. The redesigned model brings significant improvements across design, comfort, and efficiency.

**Exterior refinements focus on aerodynamics and aesthetics.** The new Model Y features a sleeker front fascia with integrated headlights, redesigned taillights with a continuous light bar, and improved aerodynamic elements that contribute to a 5% increase in range. The overall silhouette remains familiar but with sharper, more modern lines.

**Interior upgrades address previous owner feedback.** Tesla has improved material quality throughout the cabin, added enhanced sound insulation for a quieter ride, and introduced an updated infotainment system with faster processing. The rear entertainment screen, first seen in the Model S refresh, is now available as an option.

**Range and efficiency see notable gains.** The Long Range variant now achieves an EPA-estimated 350 miles, up from 330 miles in the previous generation. The Performance model offers 320 miles with a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds. Pricing starts at $49,990 for the base model.

Industry analysts view the Juniper refresh as Tesla's strategic move to maintain market leadership amid increasing competition from both legacy automakers and new EV startups. With over 1.2 million Model Y units sold globally in 2025, the updated model is expected to continue its strong sales momentum.
